5005 Aluminum Plate

As a lean aluminum magnesium alloy, 5005 aluminum plate have low density and excellent thermal conductivity. Known for its corrosion resistance in alkaline marine situations, 5005 is medium strength non-heat-treatable alloy and is readily machinable, and can be welded using TIG and MIG methods. Because of the magnesium addition, the 5xxxx grade magnesium alloys have a high strengths. 5005  is the least strength of these series of alloys.  In physical characteristics, 5005-H14 is almost same to 3003-H14 with good corrosion resistance and a smooth surface finish suitable for anodizing.

5005 aluminum plate is magnesium aluminum alloy plate sheet and the strength of the equivalent of 3003, welding, good work-ability, the aluminum alloy is similar to the 3003, with medium strength and good corrosion resistance. The anodic oxide film of 5005 aluminum sheet is brighter than the 3003 alloy, and is consistent with the tone of the 6063 alloy.

Applications

5005 aluminum plate is commonly used in aviation, such as aircraft fuel tanks, also used in conventional industries.  5005 aluminium plate belong to DC aluminum plate and can be used for anodizing deep processing. 5xxx series aluminum plates is widely produced in China.
